Transparency as a principle of good governance is at the core of what Volunteer Factor stands for. We understand that transparency fosters trust, accountability and open communication. As VF we believe this principle is important in how we strengthen relationships with local partners, volunteers and the communities at large. In turn, strengthened relationships nurture an environment of collaboration and growth.
We take this principle further into our ethical practices as an organization. We do understand that ethics change and evolve with time, what was ethical 5 years ago, might be problematic in today’s world. That is why at VF we are transparent in the ways in which we continuously develop ourselves in improving and changing how we ethically operate as an entity. We do this by constantly educating and researching best ethical practices in our industry. We do this because we know we are not always going to get it right, and because we understand the responsibility we have to our volunteers, local partners and local communities.
Impact
Sustainability
We achieve sustainability by implementing sustainable practices in our operations, such as using environmentally friendly products and minimising waste, and applying environmentally friendly practices such as REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE. To promote education and awareness, Volunteer Factor and partners educate volunteers on sustainable practices and the importance of environmental and social responsibility to help them become more conscious and responsible global citizens. We also raise awareness among local communities and partners on environmental and social issues. We strive to support local economies by hiring local staff, purchasing locally sourced products, encouraging volunteers to spend money in the local community and encouraging our partners to do
the same. This approach increases job creation and supports sustainable economic development.
Respect & Inclusivity
Respect and inclusivity are central to the success of any volunteering effort. We always create a welcoming and supportive environment that embraces diversity and recognizes the value of every individual. This involves showing respect for different cultures, beliefs, and lifestyles and acknowledging the unique contributions that each person brings to the team. At our organisation, we embrace the ethos of fun and adventure in our volunteer work. We believe that volunteering should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all involved, and that incorporating fun and adventure into our activities can enhance the overall impact of our work. By infusing a sense of excitement and exploration into our volunteer opportunities.
